            2011 Breeding Pairs and Groups

            Rhacodactylus ciliatus

            Picture
            Akua X Lellarap

This is a pairing that we've been waiting for for a long time now. Akua is a female yellow and cream directly from Allen Repashy. She is a true gem, and one of our favorites for sure. Lellarap is a stellar male pinstripe with lateral striping who belongs to Andrew and Sarah Gilpin. His offspring tend to always have pinstriping coupled with great color and pattern, and her's have impressive light pattern and color as well. Together we hope they can throw some of the best cresteds we've seen yet! ;)

            Rhacodactylus ciliatus

            Picture
            Tezya X Zephyr

This is the first year we have bred Tezya, so we are hoping for the best with her. She is a nice yellow pinstripe out of Gary Hamann (Ridge and Valley Reptile) lines. Zephyr is also from Gary, but is unrelated to Tezya in any way. Zephyr has produced some really nice pinstripes in the past, even when paired with a non-pinstripe female. We assume that 2 pinstripes with great crests and color will throw some real beautiful offspring.

            Rhacodactylus chahoua

            Picture
            Chiusi X Loki

Loki is a nice dark rusty red male we got from Steve Cemelli back in '07. He has such great color, and his offspring shows that same rust red. We've decided to pair him up with Chiusi, a pretty orange and peach colored female we purchased from Limey of Royal Reptilia
. She gets so vibrant that it is just wild. Both of these animals are Pine Island locale.

            Rhacodactylus auriculatus

            Picture
            Azera X Garth

We have paired these two gargoyles up in the past, but have had no luck with them as of yet. Azera laid a few clutches of infertile eggs in the 2010 season. We cooled them for about 9 months, and both have bulked up nicely and should be ready to go for the 2011 season.

            Rhacodactylus chahoua

            Picture
            Sneetch X Nicodemus

Sneetch is a beautiful girl that we got directly from Allen Repashy a couple of years ago. She grew into quite the stunner, expressing lots of pink coloration that we couldn't be happier with. Nicodemus came to us from Andrew Liu. He is an awesome animal too with really defined patterning and plenty of color. This is the first year these two will be bred, and Sneetch is already gravid in February '11. We hope to get some offspring out of these two that are every bit as stellar.

            Rhacodactylus leachianus

            Picture
            Yelena X Yuri

This is an Isle E (Moro) pair that we picked up from an acquaintance this winter. They are the first leachie pair that we have had. The are 6-7 years old and have great white blotching. We weren't sure we wanted to breed leachies at all, but we couldn't pass up on a good offer and we ended up with these beauties. Both have bulked up even more in our care and we hope to produce this interesting species this season.

            Rhacodactylus sarasinorum

            Picture
            Davidson Male and Female

Both of these are owned by AJ Davidson, but are being care for by us. The male is a dark boy with some nice patterning, and the female is an amazing spotted girl. I'd say that she has the most "dalmation" spotting out of any sarasinorum I've ever seen. We hope that her offspring express this same trait.

            Rhacodactylus ciliatus

            Picture
            Tiegra X Teregus

This is a bit of a different pairing, but we thought we would try it out. Tiegra is a gorgeous girl that we got as a juvenile from our good friend Terri Kane. We raised her up and couldn't be happier with her. Photos don't do her justice. She is normally an orangish yellow color with bright cream markings. She will be a first time breeder this season. Teregus is a heavily patterned pinstripe from Gary Hamann of Ridge and Valley Reptiles. Both of these geckos have excellent head structure.

            Rhacodactylus chahoua

            Picture
            Laila X Tsu'tey

This is a beautiful green pair that we have put together for this year. Laila has been in our possession for the past couple of years. She is a Pine Island that stems from Petacular lines. We have had luck with Laila in 2009, but the 2010 season was a bummer after her 2 good eggs went bad. Tsu'tey came from Phillipe de Vosjoli lines and is also a PI. He gets very dark at times, much darker than Laila. They should make a really nice pair for this season.

            Uroplatus sikorae sikorae

            Picture
            Nyx X Demeter X Hades

This is our trio of sikorae that we've had for a couple of years. The two females came from Ryan McVeigh, a friend of ours in WI. We had a male that we picked up from NARBC Tinley Park that matched up very well with them. We got 10 good eggs out of this trio, but unfortunately our incubation techniques weren't quite correct so we lost almost all the eggs from the '10 season. Molded eggs were cut open and 3/4 grown neonates were in each one...complete bummer, but lessons learned.

            Rhacodactylus sarasinorum

            Picture
            Shenzi X Inigo

Both of these geckos come from Repashy lines. Shenzi came directly from Allen back in '09 and Inigo came from Terri Kane who got him from Allen. Shenzi has produced some beautiful sarasinorum in the past with Trogdor, a Troeger line boy that passed on us last year. She has some good genetics and produces pretty heavily patterned offspring.

            Rhacodactylus ciliatus

            Picture
            Athena X Mushu

This is a first time pairing with these two, and we expect great things out of them. Athena is offspring out of the "famous" Wedgie X Novo crossing from Andrew and Sarah Gilpin. They notoriously produce beautiful dark and cream geckos. Mushu was produced by us out of our Akeemah X Arcas pairing, where most of them come out dark with light yellow patterning. We can only hope that they produce our most stellar offspring yet.

            Uroplatus phantasticus

            Picture
            Azazel X Raven

The male is a gorgeous animal that shows orange blotches all over it's body. It's belly is vibrant with color and pattern. The orange is normally much brighter than what our photos depict. The female is dark, but has a really nice light stripe running right down her dorsal. We are hoping to get viable eggs out of this pair, since the female has already been laying numerous dud eggs.

            Phelsuma laticauda laticauda

            Picture
            Yzma X Evee X Kusco

This is a mixed group that we picked up from all over the place. Kuzco is a nice male that we actually found at Petco. Yzma came from Harold Chapman, and Evee came by way of our friend Meg G. Each is doing really well in our care in a planted vivarium. Yzma laid some nice eggs to start off the season in January, so by summer we hope to have some of this species ready for sale.
(note...a photo of all 3 at once would be impossible - Kusco is pictured)

            Uroplatus sikorae sikorae

            Picture
            Unnamed Male and Female

The female is a very nice mossy green coloration and the male has fantastic patterning. The stripes are exquisite, and something I really like to see on sikorae. The female has been laying duds already in our care, so we're hoping that they mate and produce some good eggs this season. The female has since lost her tail, and it is in the process of regeneration.

            Uroplatus sikorae sameiti

            Picture
            Isis X Artemis X Eros

This is our trio of sameiti that we have collected over the past few years. Isis and Eros are a pair that we got from our good friend Mike Martin during a trip to South Carolina. Artemis is a lone female we picked up a few years ago at NARBC Tinley '08. I am trying some different techniques with this trio this year, since they only laid a couple of slugs during the '10 season.  Not too many sameiti are in the trade, much less CB, so we are hoping to change that.

Artemis was showing signs of decline this summer (2011), so we had her humanely euthanized.
