Terms and Conditions

(Please be sure to read this document carefully. ----updated January 2, 2022)
 
Reptiles require very specialized care. Please make sure you are aware of your gecko's needs before you purchase one. We prefer that our crested geckos and other New Caledonian species be fed a Meal Replacement Powder diet as a main staple. It is a complete diet that contains everything your gecko needs to be healthy. You can find various diets on the market...we recommend any of the Repashy or Pangea diets.  Also, please be aware of the housing and humidity requirements of your gecko. Please refer to our Care Sheets for more information. Providing proper gecko husbandry will go a long way in keeping your gecko healthy and happy for a very long time.
 
If you have any questions about our terms, please feel free to contact us. While we raise geckos as just a hobby, we want happy geckos and happy customers. We are more than willing to work with you throughout the life of your gecko.



Gecko Shipment 

Due to living in Wisconsin, we can generally ship between March and October, but the weather is highly variable. We reserve the right to decline a sale or shipping if we feel that the conditions are unsafe.
 
After contacting us by email or phone, we will respond back to set up a shipping time that will match our schedules. (Please keep in mind that we have full-time day jobs, so focus will be on our schedules) Geckos will be shipped by FedEx Priority services (and if applicable, in person deliveries may be an option) I will set up the shipments using the website ShipYourReptiles.com.
 
Shipping to most places around the USA generally runs between $55 - $70 for FedEx Priority, but we now set a flat rate of $60 to ship. Other shipping options can be requested if needed.
 
Shipping to Canada can be done with services through Reptile Express. Shipping overseas can be done easily for the Hamm shows through Dutch Dragon Imports (DDI). Shipping to other countries is also possible, but we ask that you find your own broker and we can work through them. We have shipped to Korea and Hong Kong often. We ask for ample time to be able to set up shipping to other countries, so please plan accordingly. If shipping to another country, we do charge for shipping within the USA to the exporter, and then all arrangements from the exporter to you are your responsibility. We also can not guarantee the health or safety of any animals that go to an exporter. We can guarantee live arrival to them, but once it is in their hands, we no longer have any responsibility. There is always some risk to take into account.
 
We always provide a heat or cold pack if needed and plenty of packing material to make sure your gecko(s) arrive safely. We will always ship using a styrofoam insulated box to hold the most comfortable and safe temperatures. We have shipped many animals in our years in this hobby and haven't had any problems.
 
Any instructions or particulars will be straightened out before the animal is to be shipped. No animal will be shipped without confirmation from the customer first. Upon shipping the gecko, I will send another message to you or contact you by phone to let you know that the package is on it's way. At this time I will also provide a tracking number. I will ship Monday through Thursday pending the weather conditions. Shipping on the weekends is not an option due to possible delays in shipping during these days. Should you happen to NOT receive any type of response once you decide to purchase, please call me at 715-630-3122 as there may be a problem with internet connections or emails.
 
Save on shipping by buying 2 or more! (I'll partially refund you through PayPal if needed.)



Deposits/Down-payments

We will hold geckos for a NON-REFUNDABLE down payment. We ask for a 25% non-refundable deposit to hold. (roughly...if the 25% doesn't come out to be a reasonable whole number, then we will negotiate a slight variation to make the total easier) We ask for a non-refundable deposit to make it fair both to other potential buyers, and also for ourselves. We want you to commit to buying the animal, and not cause us to lose out on a sale or ask other potential buyers to wait. First deposit down secures an animal.

We prefer to use PayPal exclusively. If you do not have a PayPal account, we can send an invoice via email and you can pay using any credit card.
 
Full payments are encouraged, but we are willing to work with people with payment plans/deposits. Payment plans will only be considered if the total cost is over $250. We will be strict on this policy.

 
Once a deposit is made, the customer has 1 month from the original deposit to finalize payments. We will keep in contact to make sure that the customer is on track to complete payments. (no offense to anyone, but we are not a financial institution, and you alone are in control of your own finances. This hobby is generous and fairly unique to allow payment plans, but it's unfair to the seller if a customer takes advantage of this service.) We are putting this into place to protect ourselves and to move geckos out in a timely fashion. We've had customers in the past that have been very lackadaisical, fail to communicate, or just seem to be in no hurry to complete the transaction.  If the payments aren't completed in the 1 month timeframe, then the original 25% deposit will be forfeited to Gekkonidazed Geckos and the gecko will be put back up for sale.
 
If geckos are being held due to the weather/season…then as soon as the shipping weather seems favorable for shipping, we will contact the buyer that has the animal(s) on hold. We will give a time frame of when we would like to send the gecko out. If the buyer doesn't comply, complete payment, and set up delivery within that timeframe, their deposit will be forfeited to Gekkonidazed Geckos and the gecko will be put back up for sale. We will be fair in this decision, and give ample time to finalize payments and communicate a shipping date.
 
This also holds true for buyers that are considered local and have expressed interest in meeting up to make the exchange in person. If the set timeframe has expired, the down-payment or deposit will be forfeited and the sale will be cancelled.
 
I'm sorry,
but we will NOT ship a gecko unless it is paid in full.
 
Please keep in mind that this is a hobby for us, and we both have full-time jobs plus many other hobbies. Time is valuable to us. Also, our FedEx shipping hub is about a 30 minute drive, so we have to do what is best for us and request that you also be courteous and respect our time.

Gender, Tail drop, and "During Hold" Policies

Gender Policy - We will sell geckos that are loupe sexed to the best of our ability. Usually, we are very confident in our abilities to determine gender. If we sell a gecko as unsexed, it is because it is too young or too difficult to determine. If an unsexed gecko is purchased, we will not check the gender again before shipping so that we don’t sway the buyer. It will be male or female in time regardless of where it grows, so that’s a gamble that the buyer must make. If we sell a gecko as probable/possible female, then it is because we feel that there aren’t any signs of it being male. We can’t 100% guarantee gender at that point, but if it ends up becoming male, then we will work with the buyer on a solution. We will never be dishonest and try to fool a prospective buyer into buying a gecko that isn’t accurately portrayed.

Tail drop policy – geckos of all types can drop their tail in times of stress. Shipping can be stressful and there is always a possibility of a tail drop in transit. If this should occur, we will not offer a refund, as that is an inherent risk.

During Hold policy – if anything should happen to the gecko during a holding period (example…purchased in February and can’t ship until April), then we will contact the buyer and work through the details and possibilities of refunds. This could include the rare cases of tail drops or deaths.


Cancellation Policy

If a customer cancels their order with us for any reason, we shall retain the 25% non-refundable deposit as a "restocking fee". Any funds above and beyond the 25% will be refunded back to the buyer. 

As stated in our Deposits section, this is put in place to make sure the customer is committing to the purchase on their end and is sure that that is the decision that they want to make. 


Guarantees

We will guarantee live arrival for any gecko shipped out. There must be someone to receive the gecko and give it proper care upon arrival. If nobody is there to receive the package, or the driver is unable to get a signature (if applicable), our guarantee will be voided. Contact us within 24 hours of delivery if any problems should arise, and we will figure things out from there. At the time of purchase, we will decide whether or not the gecko is in condition to be transported and will halt shipping if weather conditions aren't adequate. We will not ship a gecko that we feel is not healthy enough to be shipped, so if one arrives in a condition that is less than perfect, please contact us immediately through email, DM, or phone. Be prepared to send photographic evidence if this should be the case.

We request and encourage customers to have animals shipped to their nearest FedEx hub for pickup. This is the safest method since the hub gets the packages first, will hold them in a temperature controlled environment, and it prevents the package from bouncing around a truck all day. We prefer this method, or shipping to a business, over a home delivery. 

I can provide basic caresheets if asked to do so. Once the animal is in the hands of the buyer, it's health and well-being is beyond my control.  I will give out as much information as possible and direct buyers to places to find out even more about their new animal. For these reasons, I will not guarantee the health of the animal once the responsibilities belong to the new owner.

Partial or full refunds may be given if an animal arrives unhealthy or deceased. Any shipping charges accrued for the replacement gecko will be the customer's responsibility.
